FDA approved hair loss treatment - treatments shown to work

There are many products on the market that claim to treat and reverse the hair loss, but only two that are FDA-approved treatments for hair loss. They were supported by studies and clinical trials and proven to work. Products are Minoxidil and Propecia (finasteride).


Faster Hair Growth Pills

Propecia was approved by the FDA in 1997. It 'was originally developed to reduce prostate enlargement. It 'was the first pill is safe for use in humans, because it can cause birth defects in pregnant women.It is also recommended that women avoid touching or handling the pill because it can lead to some of them being absorbed. Although many men who take off when you are trying to conceive or during pregnancy of their partners studies have shown the amount present in seminal fluid is so small that the risk or danger to the developing fetus is not likely.

Minoxidil is the first FDA-approved for the treatment of hair loss. What happened in 1988 and sold as Rogaine in the U.S. and available in a 2% solution only. Originally,has been developed for the treatment of high blood pressure and was in a pill form. Then he discovered that a side effect was hair growth and was transformed into a topical solution specifically designed to regrow hair. Until 1996, it was only available on prescription but can now be purchased over the counter. There is now a 5% solution was approved in 1997, and studies have shown significantly more beneficial than 2%. 2% minoxidil solution is the only treatment FDA approved hair lossappropriate for women.
